is me is really me

in my every day real life, i work in a career that is lampooned, a lot, especially in the dilbert comic strip, and yet there are many times when the perception can be the reality.

yesterday, i was sitting in a meeting at 4:00pm (yes, 4:00pm on a Friday afternoon!) when one of my colleagues, frustrated by the lack of progress he was making with the senior business leader (think pretty high on the mucky muck chain of command), impulsively made a statement that came across childish and made him look truculent to the entire room, especially when he crossed his arms and jutted out his chin in defiance.

the room fell silent and then said leader, totally straight-faced quoted the above ecard. thankfully the business side of me had the good sense to remain silent even though i was rolling on the floor laughing on the inside as the room erupted in laughter.
